Michael Adams Studio

Michael Adams, one of the Seychelles' most famous painters, is an ordinary man who lives with his family and animals in a wooden plantation house surrounded by beautiful nature and a small garden in Southern Mahé Island. Adams set up an art gallery at his residence and his gallery offers magnificent silkscreen paintings of a unique quality that have evolved in the culture of the Seychelles. He prefers working outdoors and focuses his art on people in landscape.

Craft Village

Consist of a series of small Creole bungalows. Each has its own speciality handicraft, such as beautifully presented soap made with coconut oil, glass mobile, artefacts made from hard coconut shells, locally made clothing and colourful silk paintings, to name only a few. Some of the bungalows functions as workshops and you can watch the craftsman at work. For a greater variety of local made handy craft visit the Esplanade in Victoria on Francis Rachel Street, next to the library.

Carrefour Des Art

 

Positioned in the heart of Victoria, Carrefour des Art is the place where the best local art and craft work of the Seychelles tradition and environment is featured. The Carrefour des Art also houses a cafeteria where refreshment and retail outlets for CD's are on sale. Sir Selwyn Clark Market

 

Sir Selwyn Clarke Market is located in the centre along Market Street and is filled with brightly painted shops that offer local craft items including coconut products, jewellery, hand-dyed pareos, light clothing and silk paintings. On the ground floor on concert courtyard you will find stalls selling local spices and food as well as fruit and vegetables. Just opposite the stalls one will gaze at the large fresh fish market where all the beautiful and colourful fish of the Seychelles will be on sale. The market is frequented quite often during the weekdays, but Saturday is the busiest day.

Kreol Fleurage perfume

Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve

 

Located on the second largest island of Seychelles, Vallee de Mai is a World Heritage Site that consists of the six endemic palm of our island and the secret of our black parrot. With the cool winds one can enjoy exploring the Garden of Eden with a nice walk along the long narrow path of the valley.

One can buy the coco de mer and many other Seychelles souvenirs are also on sale at the Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve.
